Description

Looking for stealth radar detectors?
We have the biggest range in New Zealand!

Escort used to be your only choice for remote or “stealth” installed radar detectors, but now you can also choose from Genevo and Stinger VIP as well.

The Escort Max CI has been out of stock for quite some time

We are not sure when stock will be available.

According to Escort, the MAX Ci is the best, most advanced detection system for the ultimate in driver alert and ticket protection on the planet. Designed to be seamlessly integrated into the vehicle, it features front radar detection as well as front laser shifters that protect drivers against all speed monitoring devices.

Completely redesigned, the new ESCORT MAX Ci gives you smaller, more powerful laser shifters that defeat the latest in laser-based speed detection technology along with updatable IVT™ filters that reject false alerts from the latest in-motion vehicle safety systems like collision avoidance and lane departure systems. The new MAX Ci also includes GPS and Bluetooth® for connectivity to the ESCORT Live Community and the DEFENDER® database of red light & speed camera locations.

MAX Ci is only available in New Zealand from certified installation experts.  We can recommend installers in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

MARK LOCATION

The ESCORT MAX Ci’s “Mark Location” feature enables the customer to manually mark known speed traps, camera locations, or anything else worth noting. Once stored in its memory, the MAX Ci will provide sufficient warning for all of these points of interest.

HIGH-RESOLUTION DISPLAY

MAX Ci’s miniature display provides a multitude of installation options, including an in-dash bezel (included) for that factory installed look. Easy-to-read alerts and access to user preferences are clearly visible at a glance.

WEB READY

The ESCORT MAX Ci can be easily updated using your computer and internet. Simply go online to download our Detector Tools program, connect the MAX Ci to a PC with an active internet connection. You can even back up your data or update the detector’s operating software (firmware) if needed.

Note: Not Mac compatible at this time.

AUTO LEARN

AutoLearn uses GPS technology to automatically “learn” (by exact location and frequency) each radar signal and determine if it’s a real threat or not. This data is updated real-time during your drive and provides the most accurate alert system possible. The result is the most accurate long-range protection in the industry and a permanent solution to false alarms. You drive. It learns. End of story. Nothing could be easier.

  • What radar frequency do cops use in NZ?

Ka radar, used in police patrol cars, operates on 34.7Ghz.  If you can isolate this frequency and switch off everything else, you’ll virtually eliminate any chance of false alerts.

K band used in camera vans operates on 24.1 Ghz from a low-power radar transmitter.  This means that camera vans are very hard to detect reliably.

The difference between K and Ka band is quite simple – read more about police radar frequencies in NZ here.

  • Are Radar Detectors Illegal in New Zealand?

There has long been talk of banning radar detectors, however this rumour has been circulating for nearly 20 years and there’s no evidence to suggest any New Zealand government will actually take action on the matter.

Radar detectors are NOT illegal in New Zealand.

There are a number of reasons why radar detectoes aren’t illegal here, as discussed here – read more.

  • Do NZ Police user radar or laser?

The answer is BOTH. New Zealand Police use both radar and laser to detect speeding vehicles.

Radar is a more common though being installed in police patrol cars, motorbikes, and fixed and mobile speed cameras.

Laser is more accurate, but it can only be used by officers who are trained in its use and is used from a stationary, parked vehicle.
