Uniden Radar Detectors NZ – R3, R4, R8 | NZRadars

The R3nz, R4nz and R8 NZ are the high performance options from Uniden’s NZ radar detector range. All three come pre-configured for New Zealand road conditions before shipping, with New Zealand-specific GPS databases for fixed cameras, average speed zones and mobile camera detection.

Uniden makes some of the most sensitive Ka band radar detectors in the world. The R8 NZ has two antennas, each with a 360° directional arrow. The R4nz is due a major firmware update in 2026 that will add bus lane alerts, average speed cameras and better mobile camera detection.

All Uniden detectors are opened and programmed before we send it out to you Factory settings come with too many false alerts for NZ driving – eg ADAS systems in other cars, automated doors, road paint, clouds, days ending in “Y” – too many false alerts mean you lose faith in it. With our settings you will learn to trust every alert you will ever get. If it makes a noise, change gear, think later.
