How do I update my Escort radar detector?
Escort radar detectors need to be registered before you can update the GPS database.
If you bought it from NZ Radars, it will usually be registered for you already at the time of sale.
If you decide you need to update it yourself, download Detector Tools at the Escort website here.
Be sure to only update the GPS database, NOT the firmware or software unless you know what you’re doing.
Remember: the fixed location cameras aren’t moving, and no new locations are scheduled to be installed. There’s possibly no need to even do a a GPS update.
Thankfully Escort isn’t the only fish in the sea. Our Genevo Max, Uniden R3, R4 and R8 units all come fully set up with most of New Zealand’s speed camera locations pre-programmed, with a small USB update due soon.
Hello, is there any new gps updates?
Depends on which radar you have and when it was last updated. Genevo database has had a decent update in the last few weeks with another due within 2 months. Uniden updated a few months ago and will likely have a minor adjustment to that before the end of 2023. Escort has “new” updates every month, although we’re not sure what exactly is in the update, if any of the 10 new North Island cameras are loaded or not.
hi – i have downloaded the detector software for my escort 360 c. i see on your website that you said not to update the firmware only the gps info. the only download that i can click on is the firmware icon. the data icon is greyed out. what do you suggest please
Hi! Chances are you need to register the detector – you can do that here: https://anz.escortradar.com/pages/international-product-registration
NOTE: We recommend using a FAKE email address, otherwise you’ll get endless promo emails from Escort that aren’t even relevant here.
Once registered, connect to the update tool again and try the GPS update.
Hi David
I have the exact same issue here, did you find a solution?
Have you registered it? Any Escort detector sold by us here at NZRadars is already registered, updated and programmed.
