How do I update my Escort radar detector?

Escort radar detectors need to be registered before you can update the GPS database.

If you bought it from NZ Radars, it will usually be registered for you already at the time of sale.

If you decide you need to update it yourself, download Detector Tools at the Escort website here.

Be sure to only update the GPS database, NOT the firmware or software unless you know what you’re doing.

Remember: the fixed location cameras aren’t moving, and no new locations are scheduled to be installed. There’s possibly no need to even do a a GPS update.

Thankfully Escort isn’t the only fish in the sea.  Our Genevo Max, Uniden R3, R4 and R8 units all come fully set up with most of New Zealand’s speed camera locations pre-programmed, with a small USB update due soon.
